Hunting through Paris! ... Day 1 (Hunter's arrival and the Louvre)

My boyfriend came to see me!

In case I haven't mentioned it before, my boyfriend, Hunter, and I have been together since my sophomore year in college, and we are genuinely in love. He makes me so happy, and so it's been absolute bliss having him here in Paris for a week to spend his Spring Break with me!

I think one of the best things about this week has been experiencing the more romantic side of Paris too, which is amazing by the way. For example, when I met Hunter at the airport after his flight landed, I ran up to hug him the moment I saw him coming out of the terminal, and as we were holding each other we heard some airport employees yelling "Bravo!" to us. :)

Needless to say, we were both really happy to see each other again after almost 3 months...

Here we are taking the train from the airport back to Paris.

I think he was excited to be in Paris...and to see me too! :)

We dropped off his bags at my apartment, and went out into the city to explore a bit...

Here we are by the Seine!

Me by the Seine! Hunter ended up taking a lot of pictures of me this past week. Before he came here, he said he wanted more pictures of me so I guess that's a good thing!

Walking through Paris!

By the way, this whole week was beautiful- it was around 60 degrees (F) and sunny all week. I think Paris is seeing the first signs of Spring, so it was absolutely perfect timing for Hunter to come visit!

Later that day, we went to the Louvre!
Hunter was on purse duty while I took pictures! (I think my purse complimented his outfit really well.)

I was so so happy he came!!

Us by the pyramid!

And here we are inside the museum. I showed him the Denon wing since it has the most famous art in the collection. Plus, a lot of my personal favorites are in that wing.

Me in front of the sculpture hall!

Hunter invoking Zeus, god of the heavens!

Me invoking some lady holding fruit and patting a boy on the head!

I love how the museum itself is a work of art! Just look at the ceilings!

How romantic!

Me by my favorite sculpture! (The Winged Victory)

Hunter caught me showing how happy I was that he was there!

I think this painting is famous because its location is labeled on the maps of the museum that you get when you first enter. I also think the boy's face is a little weird...

Monica came to meet us at the Louvre a little later too!

Towards the end of our visit, Monica and I showed Hunter the sculpture courtyards in the Richelieu wing. I think he was pretty impressed. He told me before that he liked the pictures on my blog when I went to visit them the first time, so I figured he might like to see the sculptures in person.

I'm always impressed by the sculptures!! :)

Oh, and when my mom came to visit last month, Monica told her that she's been craving oatmeal for a long time but couldn't find any here in Paris. So my mom sent a huge tub of Quaker Oats with Hunter to bring to Monica, and we gave it to her after the Louvre visit. She was definitely excited to see so much oatmeal, and as I write this, the oatmeal is a little more than halfway gone. And it's only been about a week. :)

Here's Monica guarding her oatmeal with her life!

Here's a video I took right before we left the Louvre. I tried to get Hunter's overall reaction, but he gets a bit shy in front of the camera.... :)

After the Louvre, Hunter and I went back to my apartment to cook dinner and go to bed, because the next day I had something really fun planned, and we were going to need the rest!

Bisous XOXO

The first day was a bit surreal for me...actually getting to see you for the first time in months; along with seeing Paris, the Lourve, and your friend Monica (and maybe only getting a couple hours of sleep on the plane).
I couldn't help but smile though because I was so happy to see you!
And just so you know...I think I would've appreciated the art in the Lourve more if you weren't there, I kept my eyes fixed on you the whole time!

It was surreal for me too, mostly because I was so so excited to see you again, and then it finally happened!

Oh and my bad about the Louvre! :P
